Food of Israel

Israeli food is a meeting of many home cooking traditions, with fresh vegetables, tahini, olive oil, herbs and grilled meats forming the base. Breakfasts are big spreads of salads, cheeses and eggs, while markets sell falafel, sabich and pastries. Citrus, dates, pomegranates and herbs reflect the Mediterranean climate.
