Food of Armenia

Armenian cooking is built on grilled meats, wheat, fresh herbs, dairy, dried fruit and the legendary apricot. Lavash bread is baked in underground clay ovens called tonirs, and tables are filled with cheeses, greens, pickles and stuffed vegetables. Meals are warm and generous, with dishes made for sharing among family and friends.
