Food of Uzbekistan
Uzbek cooking is hearty and warm, built on lamb, carrots, onions, rice, wheat and dried fruit, with bread baked in clay tandoor ovens. Plov is cooked in huge cauldrons for gatherings, while noodle soups, dumplings and kebabs fill everyday tables. Green tea is poured throughout every meal, and the bazaars overflow with melons, nuts and sweets.
