Food of Kosovo

Kosovar cooking draws on Balkan, Ottoman and Mediterranean tastes: layered pies, grilled meats, dairy, peppers and beans. Bread is central, and family meals include fresh vegetables, cheese and salads. Flija, a layered cooked pie, is a highlight of celebrations.
