Food of Hungary

Hungarian cooking is defined by paprika, onions and rich stews cooked slowly in a cauldron. Soups, stuffed vegetables, dumplings, sour cream and pastries fill the table, with Danube fish and spicy sausages as specialties. Meals are generous and homey, and cakes and coffee are an afternoon tradition.
