Food of Ukraine
Ukrainian cuisine is hearty and homey, with rich soils producing wheat, beets, potatoes, cabbage and sunflower oil. Dumplings, soups and bread play starring roles, along with pork, fresh cheese, dill and sour cream. Dishes are made for sharing with family, often with soup first and a table full of pickles and preserves.
